How to easily apply false lashes - a tutorial for beginners!
Applying fake eyelashes for the first time can be a little tricky. Especially when your making plans for Saturday night and that is, well in 5 hours! You're almost done your makeup but of course you still need the finishing touches - your false lash strips! Your technique on how to put on lashes is not that great. You're perfect at applying pretty much everything but these falsies. Well, it sounds easy, and it is easy! Jill Landry, the local salon owner of Oak + Ivy Salon in a small town called Brandon, Manitoba is here to give you the low-down on easily applying the best false eyelashes.
The first tip, the hairstylist and self-taught makeup artist says "you're going to make sure you have all your eye makeup on first, including your eyeliner and mascara." We wanted to find out more about Jill's experience as a makeup artist. She quite frequently meets new clients and customers at Oak + Ivy Salon who have never worn false eyelashes before. She explains her experience saying, "when recommending lash styles to clients I typically like to ask them how much makeup they wear day to day, have they worn lashes before and most importantly their eye shape." She also tells us, "I personally prefer a strip lash over lash extensions because I find them more dramatic and I love the fact that I can take them off at the end of the day and be able to rub my eyes and have a completely clean face!!! Even if you don’t wear lashes on a daily basis, adding some to your look for an event like a wedding, really elevates your glam, gives you that extra pop and they look amazing in photos!"
